You have:
Bachelor degree or equivalent in Demography, Sociology, Economics, Statistics, or related fields.
At least 12 months of experience in population-related topics.
Fluent in Spanish (mandatory).
Working knowledge of English (optional).
Interest in learning about demographic trends and population characteristics.
Ability to generate strategic information to understand population needs.
Contract

Description of task
Under the direct supervision of Mario Vergara, CO National Representative, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Supporting the Population and Development consultant on:
Production and analysis of information on demographic trends and population characteristics.
Providing technical assistance to the National Statistics Office (NSO) on measuring and reporting Sustainable Development Indicators.
Providing technical assistance to the NSO on strengthening civil registration and vital statistics systems.
Monitoring and evaluation of activities included in the Country Program 2019 – 2022, UNFPA Strategic Plan 2018 – 2021, and the United Nations Framework for Sustainable Development Cooperation (UNSDCF).
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent

Demography, Sociology, Economics, Statistics, or related fields.
Required experience:
12 Months

Specific requirements:
Professionals with an undergraduate degree in Demography, Sociology, Economics, Statistics, or related fields. At least one year of experience in this topics, with interest in learning about the production and analysis of information on demographic trends and population characteristics, measuring and reporting Sustainable Development Indicators, and generating strategic information to understand and meet the specific needs of the various population groups.
