This is a UNV International Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Youth contracts.

Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Sexual and Reproductive Health National Programme Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
7 days after the start of the contract, submit a Work Plan, which includes a schedule for the execution of the activities described in this section.
Review of documents related to the mandate of UNFPA (UNFPA Strategic Plan, Country Program 2019 – 2022, Pact of Commitment) and the document “Principles and standards of results-based management” and another national documents related with this DoA.
Collaborate with technical officers and partnerships to implement Adolescent Pregnancy National Policy and Maternal Health National Strategy.
Support the sexual and reproductive health officer in the monitoring and follow-up of the Work Plan with the Ministry of Public Health according to the organization’s requirements.
Participate in coordination and training meetings on comprehensive sexual and reproductive health issues (maternal health, family planning, prevention of adolescent pregnancy, gender based violence GBV and HIV)
Support in the preparation of reports and review of SRH documents
Any other activity that is required or assigned by the National Representative or the supervisor.
Identification of areas of close collaboration between UNV and UNFPA.

Learning and development are a central part of the UN Youth Volunteer’s assignment and take place before, during and after his or her assignment in the field. Ideally, offering diverse opportunities for learning and development aim to strengthen the volunteer’s skills and competences, improve the quality of the assignment and keep the volunteer’s motivation high.
Learning elements for the UN Youth Volunteer include the development of:
Professional skills: including specific competencies and reflection on assignment-related abilities; and on-the-job skills such as time management, problem solving, team building; and career preparedness such as interview skills, CV preparation, job searching.
Inter-personal skills: including communication and listening skills; multi-cultural awareness and cultural competency; and conflict and stress management.
